How these practices connect
The four practices reinforce one another. What we learn from reviewing AI systems informs how we build them, and the discipline of building keeps our review grounded in how these systems behave in practice. Across all four, the commitments are the same: rigor in method, independence in judgment, and ethics treated as a design constraint rather than an afterthought. Where building and reviewing could conflict, we address the tension directly — we do not conduct review work for organizations whose AI systems we have built.
