Ethical AI, built and reviewed with integrity.
Adili AI is a Kenya-based organization that builds AI systems ethically and reviews the ethics of AI systems worldwide. We bring African perspectives to the center of global AI development and governance.
What we do
Adili AI operates at the intersection of AI development and AI ethics. We build artificial intelligence systems designed around ethical principles from the outset, and we conduct independent ethical review of AI systems built and deployed by others. Our work is grounded in Nairobi and engaged globally.
Responsible AI Development
AI systems built with ethics as a design constraint, not an afterthought.
AI Chatbots for African Businesses
Conversational AI and automation tools built for African organizations and their users.
Advisory Services
Guidance for organizations navigating AI ethics, governance, and deployment.
Why African-rooted AI ethics matters
The AI ethics field has been shaped predominantly by institutions, funders, and perspectives from a narrow set of Western countries. Yet AI systems are deployed globally, and their harms fall disproportionately on communities in the Global South. Adili AI exists to change the geography of this work: to build AI in African contexts, with African users at the center, and to bring African perspectives into global governance conversations where they belong.
